Venice…Florence…Rome

This trip has it all! Enjoy a gondola ride on the canals of Venice, a wine tasting afternoon in the amazing Tuscany area and a tour of spectacular Rome, “The Eternal City.”
Day 1…Morning bus departure from Decatur to Chicago O’Hare airport. Afternoon flight to Italy.
Day 2…Arrive in Venice and transfer to hotel. A day of leisure to shop or just relax. Have a romantic dinner at a sidewalk café on a canal.
Day 3…Morning tour of St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, view the bell tower and bridge of Sighs. Visit a Venetian glassblowing factory and enjoy the rest of your day exploring. Join an optional gondola ride…a must!
Day 4…Depart for Ferrara, a renaissance gem. Then to the leaning tower of Pisa (1 of the 7 Wonders of the World). End your day in Florence, the heart of the Tuscany area.
Day 5…Today’s morning city tour begins at the majestic Piazza Del Duomo, then on to the Giotto’s bell tower. Visit the Academy of Fine Arts where Michelangelo’s David is displayed. Your tour ends with a spectacular view over Florence. Enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
Day 6…Your first stop this morning will be at the “Giachi Family Winery” with wine tasting in San Gimignano. While traveling through the Tuscany, we will stop in the beautiful city of Siena for a stroll to the Piazza Del Campo. Afterwards, on to Assisi to visit the Basilica of St. Francis.
Day 7…Enjoy half-day sightseeing tour, including all the highlights of splendid Rome. Visit the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Continue on to see the Colosseum (1 of the 7 Wonders of the World). Afternoon and evening are free to stop at a café by the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps.
Day 8…Enjoy a full day free in spectacular Rome. You may want to shop, see galleries or museums, or relax in a sidewalk café.
Day 9…Transfer to Rome Airport for your flight home. Arrive in Chicago with bus transfer to Decatur.
What’s Included: Round-trip bus to Chicago, round-trip flight to Italy, all transfers, baggage handling, hotels, full breakfast daily and tours listed with guides.
