Harold picks up Cain endorsement, continues tour of 13th district

DECATUR--  13th District Congressional hopeful Erika Harold has picked up a big-name endorsement just ahead of her open forum tonight in Decatur.
Via press release Tuesday morning, Harold announced she had received an official endorsement from former Presidential candidate Herman Cain.
“I am honored to receive the support of Mr. Cain, a man noted for his business acumen and ability to mobilize grassroots Republicans,” Harold said.
Cain is scheduled to participate in several events in support of Harold’s campaign.  On January 31st, Cain will be the featured guest at an evening fundraiser in St. Louis and then will lead a morning rally in Edwardsville the next day.
Cain has previously served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and CEO of the National Restaurant Association.  He also served as CEO of Godfathers Pizza during the 1980s.
“Mr. Cain was able to connect with the American people by clearly communicating the common-sense, free-market principles needed to foster growth in our economy,” Harold said, “and I aspire to do the same throughout the 13th District.”
Harold is in the middle of a district wide tour that will bring her to Decatur tonight.  The open forum will be held at the Decatur Civic Center tonight from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
Harold is one in a crowded field of candidates challenging incumbent congressman Rodney Davis.
