DECATUR-- Over 100 motorcycle riders, the Illinois Patriot Guard, and Governor Pat Quinn are expected in attendance on Sunday for the 2nd annual Sgt. Jesse Tilton Memorial Ride.
The ride is going towards benefitting the Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall, Lincoln Challenge, and the Macon County Honor Guard.
Tilton, a Decatur native, passed away on July 16th, 2010 from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by insurgents while deployed in Afghanistan.
Starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, the guard will escort the Illinois Fallen Heroes from the Decatur Civic Center, to Tilton’s grave at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek, and eventually ending at Timbuktu.
in addition to the ride, there will also be a raffle, volleyball, and live entertainment.
Donations will also be accepted in the amount of $10 or more and raffle tickets can be purchased at $5 each.
