SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Andy Manar (D–Bunker Hill) announced Decatur as the next town
for his new constituent‐outreach program “Capitol on your Corner”.
To facilitate an open, ongoing dialogue with the people of the 48th District, Manar has
committed to regularly visiting towns across the district to meet with constituents and answer
their questions as part of a program he’s calling “Capitol on your Corner.”
“The people of the 48th district want an independent voice in Springfield, and I feel the best way
to do that is to be accessible and directly accountable to residents,” Manar said. “People
shouldn’t have to travel to Springfield to talk to their representatives face‐to‐face, so I’m
coming to them.”
The second “Capitol on your Corner” event is scheduled as follows:
• 11:30am – 12:30pm on March 23 at Jalyrih’s Grill in Decatur, IL
• Jalyrih’s Grill – 820 N. Main St.
Manar welcomed over 40 people at his first “Capitol on Your Corner” event at the Yellow Dog
restaurant in Worden earlier this month.
