Refreshment Services Pepsi gives back to local community through bottle caps
DECATUR-- For the 3rd year in a row, Refreshment Services Pepsi is giving back to the community with their Community Caps promotion.
Kicking off yesterday and running through May, Refreshment Services Pepsi will be giving 5 cents to any 501C3 charitable organization throughout the area in return for yellow bottle caps.
GM of Refreshment Services, Dave Moran says being able to give back to the community is important for local businesses. “People think we are a really large company, but we are actually family owned. We are a local business and it’s our job to give back to the community, and our owners support that, we are very fortunate to work for such a generous family,” Moran said.
Moran says last year they gave out over $12,000 to organizations such as Macon Resources, Easter Seals, Come Together Lets Walk, and several schools.
Throughout the collection period this year, they are also giving out prizes for more short term goals. The top earning classroom March 1st through March 30th will get a pizza party, the top earning classroom April 1st through April 30th gets an ice cream party, and the top earning coach from now until April 30th gets a bonus of 1,000 caps, plus a $50 gift card to their school.
