DECATUR-- The Decatur Police and Macon County Coroner have identified the man killed in a traffic accident around 6 p.m. last night on Route-48. 

57 year-old Jeffery Glosser was traveling north on Illinois Route 48 when his SUV sideswiped a vehicle traveling southbound on route 48 and subsequently left the road and struck a tree. 

Glosser was then extricated from his vehicle and taken to St. Mary’s hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 6:30 from head and chest trauma. 

The driver of the other vehicle has not been identified and sustained no injuries. 

An autopsy is still pending.
