Calling all Vietnam Veterans!

The Decatur Public Library will be hosting the traveling Vietnam War Memorial exhibit,
“The Wall That Heals”, May 16 through May 19, 2013.  This exhibit is one of four half-size
traveling replicas of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C.

Along with this exhibit, the library is planning a month-long exhibit of photos and
Memorabilia from the Vietnam War Era.  The committee is also looking for:

  • Photos from the Vietnam War
  • Uniforms
  • Helmets
  • Unit Insignias
  • Letters
  • Flags
  • Knives
  • Dog tags
  • Etc.
All materials will be treated with great care, and returned to the owners after the exhibit
closes.  Photos will be copied, enlarged, and hung in the second floor gallery.  The
memorabilia will be displayed in locked cases around the library and in the lobby.  Items
will be collected until March 15th.  Exceptions can be made time-wise with advanced
knowledge.

If you have anything you would like to loan to the library for this exhibit or have questions,
