DECATUR-- As part of their 10 year plan, the Decatur Park District is working to revitalize the parks system throughout the city.
In order to get the best possible product, they have teamed up with various companies such as DMH and ADM in order to equip the parks with what they need.
Park District Executive Director Bill Clevenger stressed the importance of partnerships with big projects…
“Anytime we can partner with groups it allows us to provide more opportunities, different kinds of opportunity, and just engage more people in the various projects we do throughout the community.”
DMH has teamed with the Park District to lease the land near Spencer Park for only $1.
Using advanced statistical data, the Park District is designing the neighborhood parks throughout Decatur to fit the needs of its residents. Clevenger says Spencer Park should be fully renovated by June or July. For a view of one new design; Hess Park was recently finished.
