The Macon County Board moved to approve a lease agreement with Manar’s camp at last night’s meeting.
The vote was far from unanimous, with several republicans voting no, citing the choice of location.
Due to the location chosen Manar will not be allowed to campaign out of it and as of now the office only has one employee, Lisa Stanley. Stanley says the construction on the office space is set to begin immediately; no date for its opening has been set.
The County is charging $500 per month for the space and the lease is set to expire in June of 2014.
The board also approved a special meeting on Thursday January 17th to address the operation and governance of municipal aggregation throughout the county. The special meeting will be held on the 5th floor of the Macon County Office Building at 6 p.m.
