Rep. Brown hopes for financial focus for 98th GA

DECATUR-- A 98th Illinois General Assembly was inaugurated Wednesday, but as family and friends were excited with the pomp and pageantry, members old and new talked about unfinished business from the 97th General Assembly.

The old Legislature adjourned Tuesday without fixing the state's broken public pension system.  State Representative Adam Brown said he hopes the House can focus on the much needed budgetary issues…

“I’m hoping we can now focus on some budgetary issues.  During last week’s lame duck session I was disappointed with how some things went.” Brown said, “I hope during the 98th General Assembly we can take a look at some common sense solutions and get things done.”

Lawmakers are scheduled to return to Springfield to take up work of the 98th General Assembly on the 30th of January.
