Police on the lookout for drunk driver and seatbelt abusers



DECATUR-- The Illinois State Police and Department of Transportation are reminding you that beefed up holiday traffic enforcement will continue throughout the end of the year. 

IDOT spokesperson Paris Ervin says the end of the year push aims to cut down on accidents that have plagued Illinois roadways in 2012…
 
“Motorists can expect stepped up DUI and seatbelt enforcement, especially in the nighttime hours, which are generally more dangerous.”
 
More than 930 people have lost their lives on Illinois roadways in 2012, a slight increase over 2011.
 
Ervin says they have two simple messages in order to get your safely where you need to be.
 
“Our messages are simple; drive sober or get pulled over and click it or ticket.”
