DECATUR,IL-- The 2012 Downtown Decatur Christmas Walk was a success. The weather cooperated and allowed many families to take advantage of the special refreshments and deals merchants had to offer.
The smell of Del’s Popcorn filled the air and Emily Hahn said the line extended out the door. Doug Bell of Bell’s Jewelry was also pleased with the foot traffic.
“My staff felt like this is the largest number of people that we’ve seen downtown, in our store particularly and there was only one other Christmas Walk several years ago when the weather was pretty good but it snowed a little bit that we had anything even close to this.“
The Christmas walk has been a tradition for over ten years and did not disappoint this year. Make sure to patronize downtown shops because for every $100 you spend, $68 is recycled back to the community.
