DECATUR-- It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… at least in downtown Decatur. 

Several volunteers from the local IBEW 146 spent part of Thursday night stringing up Christmas lights all over the new light poles. 

This has been an annual tradition in Decatur since the 1940s; this year however is a first with the new streetscape. 

The City has traditionally used this day as a sort of kickoff into the holiday season, so as the weather begins to become cooler and the days become shorter get ready for some holiday activities.
