Local dentist looking to give back to troops

DECATUR-- A longtime Decatur business is helping out the troops while also helping you avoid cavities.

Jerger Pediatric Dentistry is partnering up with Operation Gratitude to show support for the troops overseas with a candy donation program.

The candy buyback gets the extra candy out of your house and shows appreciation for the soldiers.

It's an opportunity, says Dr. Bret Jerger that should be taken full advantage of…

“We’re so blessed to be in this community and we really want to help out not only in this community but statewide and nationwide.  Right now this is worldwide, going to the troops all over.  We definitely want to give back.”

In order to participate just visit Jerger Dentistry at 2101 N. main street in Decatur between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

For every 1 pound of candy given, $1 will be given in return (up to 5 pounds).

In addition to the candy donation, you are also encouraged to write a letter to a soldier.
