13th Congressional District debate recap

SPRINGFIELD-- The candidates for the 13th Congressional district met once again last night and gave their opinions on issues facing the state of Illinois.  The debate was held in Springfield and unlike the debate last week at Illinois State, this one held all three candidates.

Just days after receiving endorsements from several central Illinois mayors, Republican Candidate for the 13th Congressional seat Rodney Davis made his willingness to work in a bipartisan manner his point of emphasis at last night’s debate…

After a tumultuous last week that included questions surrounding his campaign funding, 13th district candidate David Gill pointed out that no matter where he gets his funding from, he is still running for the people who are in need, and he does not support major corporation funding…

Independent John Hartman pushed the open mindedness of an independent candidate, stressing that he isn’t indebted to either party…

Hartman often went back to the idea that PAC spending on both political campaigns have gotten out of hand and instead of voting for the best leader, we are voting for who looks best when the dust settles.

The final debate before the Nov. 6th election will be on November 1st.
