DECATUR-- The upcoming election for the 13th congressional seat isn’t just a two horse race. John Hartman is running as an independent against both Davis and Gill and he says despite not being backed by either party, he has gained over 5,000 signatures in order to be put on the ballot. Hartman says he provides a different perspective from that of Davis or Gill…
“Our country needs leadership, we are on very many trajectories that are off of what we should be and I feel like I can make a difference. I am an independent so I am not going to fake and pretend to be something that I’m not.”
Hartman says despite not being in the debate held at ISU last week, he believes his participation at the next two debates leading up to election night will give him enough visibility so that he will be able to compete come November 6th.
