Students say debate failed to land any solid message

NORMAL, ILL-- Two of the more popular political candidates here in Central Illinois had the Brown Ballroom at ISU near capacity as Rodney Davis and David Gill held a debate.  In what was staged as an attempt to connect with the younger voter, both candidates seemed more intent on settling a personal score than explaining their policies to young voters.  An ISU student who attended the debate says the candidates didn’t seem interested into doing anything outside of arguing with one another…

The student says she identifies herself as a moderate conservative, but she is split on many issues between the candidates.  Gill and Davis are running for the open 13th congressional district seat.
