DECATUR-- In 2011 Eisenhower High School became one of 27 schools in the state of Illinois to be granted a School Improvement Grant in order to improve their educational system. Chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education, Gery Chico, visited Eisenhower yesterday to meet with faculty, students, and parents to see how the improvements were going. Eisenhower is in the middle of a 3 year agreement and have put a majority of the money towards hiring new staff, implementing a new core curriculum, and hiring a staff to monitor student behaviors.
