O'FALLON, Ill-- A Central Illinois Congressional candidate is coming under some heat after a judge in St. Claire County alleges that he shoved her during a homecoming parade. Democratic Candidate in the 12th district, Bill Enyart is being accused by Associate Judge Laninya Cason of shoving her in the shoulder while she attempted to hand out campaign literature for Enyart’s republican challenger, Jason Plummer.
Enyart’s campaign says that he accidentally bumped into Cason, and promptly apologized; however, Cason sticks by her story that Enyart was aggressive with her. O’Fallon Police Sgt. Jim Cavins says that his department is investigating Cason’s allegations and that when the investigation is complete they will present their case to the State’s Attorney for review.
