Dennis Shackelford of Springfield is getting support from State Treasurer Dan Rutherford in the race to November. Shackelford says his campaign is all in on Decatur.
Rutherford says campaigns with heavy funding from Chicago Democrats, like Shackelford's opponent Sue Scherer, are what the state needs to avoid. He says the people of Macon County are sensitive to having a job, lower tax rates, and leaving within the state’s means.
Shackelford says the now famous Sue Scherer mailers will have some competition starting Tuesday as his campaign joins the media fray with one of its own.
