DECATUR-- After numerous hours of planning, the Decatur Public School District finally has a budget for the school year. While they were able to maneuver finances around and dig into their working cash fund, it is still $4 million less than what they were expecting, and as Superintendent Gloria Davis says, $4 million is a lot of money, even if you can manage without it…
Davis says that they have roughly $7 million in their working cash fund, which works as the school districts savings account, but they would prefer not to reach too deep into it and leave themselves without a safety net in case of future budget issues.
