Nike counterfeit operation head arrested

DECATUR -  After a year-long investigation, Decatur police finally believe they’ve cracked a counterfeit scheme.

Authorities arrested a 24-year old man in the 200 block of East Wood Street nearly a year to the day after they seized about 300 pairs of knock-off Nike shoes worth over $10,000.  The suspect admitted he moved from place to place, including New York and Michigan, to avoid arrest after that raid on September 15th, 2011.

He’s officially charged with violating the Counterfeit Trademark Act and is due for arraignment October 23rd
