LAKE FOREST-- State Treasurer Dan Rutherford’s iCash program is paying out big for one Illinois business. The program has been dolling out unclaimed assets to Illinoisans all summer long and Tenneco, a manufacturing business out of Lake Forest was on the right end of the largest sum ever paid out… $8.1 million. Rutherford says that when Tenneco purchased the Pullman Company in 1996, it also took control of 45 separate properties that it did not know about. The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office Unclaimed Property Division now oversees more than $1.6 billion in cash, plus the contents of Illinois safe deposit boxes that have been inactive for at least 5 years.
