Weekly crop report shows Illinois topsoil improving



Slowly but surely, Illinois lands are improving.  More than half the corn crop has been harvested already in the state.  The cool, dry weather gave farmers plenty of time in the fields this past week says Chief State Crop Statistician Brad Schwab in this week’s Illinois Crop Report…



66% of soybeans are dropping leaves and 8% have been harvested.  62% of the soybean crop is rated in fair to poor condition; average statewide topsoil moisture now stands at 1% surplus and 48% adequate.
