Andy Manar picks up endorsement from CA/IL

CHICAGO-- Andy Manar received an endorsement from Citizen Action’s State PAC, the Progressive Action Project in his bid for State Senate in Illinois 48th Senate District. Manar is running against Republican Mike McElroy for the seat being vacated by State Senator Thomas Johnson.

“Throughout his campaign, Andy has put a laser focus on issues related to expanding quality access to healthcare and protecting consumers and working families in Illinois,” said William McNary, co-director, Citizen Action/Illinois. Based on many of the public positions of his opponent, we believe that Andy represents the right choice in this race.”

“Now more than ever we need fierce advocates like Andy to fight for Illinoisans because working families, consumers, taxpayers and those who value justice and equality are under constant attack in statehouses around the nation and during the 2012 elections, we want to give them the power to fight back.”

Citizen Action/Illinois is the state's largest public interest organization. Building on over two decades of experience, Citizen Action/Illinois is a key player in the fight for social and economic justice at the state and national levels. Citizen Action/Illinois has led campaigns for lower utility rates, fair taxes, affordable and quality health care, insurance and campaign finance reform, and stronger environmental and food safety protections. Citizen Action/Illinois works hard to hold our elected officials accountable on these issues every day in the State House and in the Congress.
