Before going to Brazil, Quinn says he favors higher minimum wage in Illinois



CHICAGO-- On his way out of town over the weekend, Governor Pat Quinn says he thinks a good resolution to the states increasing poverty issue would be to raise minimum wage.  A recent report found 1.9 million Illinoisans were living in poverty last year; and Quinn thinks paying people more would help lower that figure…



Illinois’ current minimum wage rate is $8.25 an hour, which is one of the highest in the country.  Opponents say raising that any higher would drive business to other states.
