Decatur Park District to allow year long storage at Ski Klub and Air Choice 1 prepares for big changes

DECATUR-- Members of the Ski Klub of Decatur will no longer have to remove their campers from the campground during the winter months.  The Decatur Park District okayed a request by Klub members Steve Williams and Jack Poland to build a storage facility that will have room to house all 23 camping spots.  Williams and Poland argued that it would make things easier for the campers because they sign up for a spot and own the rights to it until they decide to retire from the club, and it would also create a revenue stream of roughly $30 a month per storage spot.  The board agreed under the stipulation that there would be no camping during the winter months and the campers would remain on the property only in storage.

The ever growing Air Choice 1 air service that charters customers from Decatur to St. Louis as well as Chicago will now be making travel plans much easier for their fast growing customer base.  They recently signed a deal to partner with major airline companies such as American, United, and Delta and they will also offer an online ticketing service that can be found through travel websites such as Expedia and Travelocity.  Michelle McCoy, the Decatur Station Manager says they see on average 1,300 travelers per month both in and out of Decatur and that this new agreement will make it simpler for travelers to book and travel with Air Choice 1.  Since they first took over in 2009 the company has seen an increase of 890% and they are looking into adding 2 more flights between Decatur and Chicago sometime within the next year.
