With large movie productions moving to a digital format, many small time movie theaters are having trouble finding space within their budget to purchase new equipment.  And in turn, aren’t allowed access to the latest films.  Skip Houston, owner of Avon Theaters in downtown Decatur says it is difficult enough for a small business to stay afloat, let alone pay thousands for new equipment…



Houston says the Avon Theater is lucky to be a popular business in Decatur and therefore has already set up a plan to install new digital equipment by the turn of the year.  Digital projectors can run upwards of $70,000 per screen.
