Weekend Rain Helps, But Changes Nothing

Isaac helped, but not enough to pull us out of the hole once known as Lake Decatur.

The official rain total numbered 3 ½ inches in Decatur from the weekend showers, which was enough to create flow in the Sangamon River and rally the lake level by 5 inches to a foot.

However, City Manager Ryan McCrady reminds us we’re a long way from ending the current water restrictions…

McCrady says when you can stop worrying about watering your lawn, you can start picturing the end of restrictions.  Consulting firm Black & Veach continues to work on temporary wells that will likely be in place within 10 days’ time.
