Two Argenta women are avoiding serious injury but not the Illinois State Police after after a single vehicle crash Thursday night.  21-year old Amanda DeWeese and 20-year old Melissa Otta were both cited with illegal transportation of alcohol.

DeWeese, the driver, was also slapped with a DUI after the duo’s car crashed in the right ditch on I-72 one mile east of the U.S. 51 exit. 

Both parties admitted the driver passed out from huffing aerosol and smoking cannabis and had veered into the ditch.
