Red Cross Begins Sending Assistance to Gulf Coast



In anticipation of the devastation that will be caused by tropical storm Isaac, the Red Cross has already begun sending volunteers down to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.  More than 1,500 volunteers have been sent down in order to set up and open evacuation shelters in Florida.  They are already reporting more than 560 people seeking shelter among the 42 shelters set up and supported through the Red Cross.  To find out what you can do to help contact your area Red Cross or follow This Link for the Mid Illinois Chapter
