DNA Pins More Charges in Burglaries
A DNA test is helping to bring more charges against a Decatur teen for stealing.
17-year old Leondrous Coleman was already in jail for possession of a converted vehicle, or stealing a pickup truck, when a DNA test determined he was responsible for a house burglary, too. Decatur Police say the burglary actually happened the same day Coleman was arrested for the truck theft.
To add to the mess, Coleman was free on Class X felony drug charges for possessing large amounts of cocaine. He faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted of the charges.
Coleman already has 5 juvenile burglary convictions and is due in court September 5th.
