The unemployment rate fell in 5 of the state’s 12 metro areas last month, including Peoria, Chicago and Kankakee.  Unfortunately Illinois saw the unemployment rate increase in 4 metro areas, including Decatur.  IDES spokesperson Greg Rivara says the rapid rise and all of employment is due to an uneasy economy…



The statewide unemployment rate for Illinois was 8.39%, a slight increase from June.
