Nation-wide Salmonella Outbreak Started in Southwestern Indiana
The Illinois Department of Public Health is issuing a warning about a salmonella outbreak that expands to multiple states. 141 people from 20 states have been affected so far; with 17 of those cases right here in Illinois. Miller says many people can recover without medical attention however sometimes the symptoms, such as abdominal cramps and fever can reach an extreme point, at which time medical attention is recommended. Symptoms can be seen in as little as 12 hours after consuming the infected food.
