The special session failed to produce any progress as the Senate did not take up a proposal, and the only one the House discussed was one which would have helped an estimated three-thousandths of the problem. The plan, which was not called for a final vote once it was clear there was not enough support for it, would have effectively reduced the pensions for current lawmakers and offered no pensions for future lawmakers.
