After the failed pension meeting on Friday; the finger pointing and blame game has begun.  Republican lawmakers are unhappy with the blame being pushed onto them; with Republican House leader Tom Cross even going as far as saying he doesn’t think the democrats want to get anything done, despite what they say…



The special session failed to produce any progress as the Senate did not take up a proposal, and the only one the House discussed was one which would have helped an estimated three-thousandths of the problem. The plan, which was not called for a final vote once it was clear there was not enough support for it, would have effectively reduced the pensions for current lawmakers and offered no pensions for future lawmakers.
