Owens Arraigned After Brass Knuckle Beating
The Decatur man arrested last week for beating another man with brass knuckles and stealing his car is being arraigned on felony charges.
20-year Karthell Owens is facing counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking, DUI, vehicle invasion, and illegally converted vehicle. Owens was allegedly thrown from his bicycle during a narrow miss by the man driving his car, at which point the attack occurred.
Why was he riding the bike? Owens received a separate DUI one week prior and was also serving probation for a 2009 weapons incident.
He’s being held on $75,000 bond with three upcoming trial dates.
