Decatur Man Under Arrest After Stealing Car, Battering Man With Brass Knuckles
A 20-year old Decatur man is facing charges that he allegedly punched a man with brass knuckles and then stole his car.
Decatur Police say the incident happened Wednesday night in the 800 block of East Decatur Street when the driver nearly struck Karthell Owens, who became enraged and struck the victim many times in the face. The man suffered a broken nose and traumatic bleeding on his brain but has since been released from the hospital.
Owens was arrested on charges of illegal consumption, DUI, and aggravated vehicular hijacking. He’s in the Macon County Jail awaiting arraignment.
