Local Car Wash Doing What It Can To Conserve Water
The recent mandatory water restrictions in Decatur have put a moratorium of washing your car in your driveway. But that doesn’t mean you will have to drive around in a dirty car. Commercial car washes are still open for business but even they have begun cutting their water usage. Dan Dougherty, owner of Rainstorm Car Washes says his company has begun doing a number of things to reduce their water numbers…
Dougherty says his car washes use about 20 to 25 gallons of water and reclaims about 40% of that water after each wash. The average at-home washer uses approximately 75 gallons of water every wash, while reclaiming none of it.
