Ameren Unveils "other" Plan

In addition to their new smart grid technology Ameren has moved into stage two of their proposed Transmission line that will stretch from Palmyra, Missouri through Quincy, Illinois and into Sugar Creek, Indiana.  The line will help facilitate renewable energy to millions of customers nationwide.  With concerns over increased bills, Leigh Morris, a spokesperson with Ameren says it won’t cost consumers that much more…

The line will require a substation to be built just south of Mount Zion, but will not run directly through the town.  Morris says if everything gets approved they hope to have the project finished late in 2019.  They will be returning to Mount Zion in September with a proposed finalized route.
