'Cramming' Outlawed in Illinois



Governor Pat Quinn looks to end the exploitation of consumers by phone companies.  He signed a bill into law that will end “cramming.” That's when third parties charge unneeded or unwanted services on a landline telephone bill. Executive Director of the Citizens Utility Board Dan Kolata says consumers will benefit from the signing…



The anti-cramming one goes into effect next year. Only Illinois and Vermont have such a law.
