Okaw Valley Confusion Heats Up While Solutions Explored
The five schools not talking about leaving the Okaw Valley Conference are looking to secure their future. Clinton, Maroa-Forsyth, Monticello, St. Teresa, Tolono Unity met earlier this week with five other schools: Champaign St. Thomas More, Eureka, Paxton-Buckley-Loda, St. Joseph-Ogden, and Stanford Olympia. The two sides plan another meeting in July to discuss potential mergers.
The other 7 Okaw schools have not formally left yet. However a meeting is set for August 3rd for Argenta-Oreana, Central A&M, Meridian, Sullivan, Shelbyville, Tuscola, and Warrensburg-Latham based around forming a new conference. An 8th member has also been invited and says they'll be attending - St. Teresa.
