Every dog has its day and for the shelter pets at the Decatur Macon County Animal Shelter, that day is the 4^th of july.  The shelter pet birthday party was held over the weekend and Shelter President Shirley Stanley says there are many ways to brighten a shelter pets’ day…



Stanley also says it’s a great day for pet adoption, about every 15 minutes either a cat or a dog finds a new home.  In future events the Shelter will be partnering up with the Scovill Zoo on August 18^th for a bike ride, benefiting the shelter as well as the new Wolf exhibit at the zoo.
