Ameren has once again become the target for scammers looking to get customer information. The energy company was first hit in mid-May in which customers were duped into giving out social security numbers to receive what they thought was going to be a lump sum payment towards their energy bills. Ameren stresses that they will never e-mail you asking to receive personal information and they are urging anyone who may have made a transaction to call their offices, either in Illinois or Missouri.
