Chicago -- Flight operations at Midway International Airport have been disrupted by a lack of runway lights. The Chicago airport was shut down last night by the Federal Aviation Administration. A Commonwealth Edison spokeswoman says the utility is working with Midway personnel to help them get their equipment up and running.

Springfield -- Illinois has set aside $8.6 million for a section of the Chicago-to-St. Louis high-speed rail line that runs through the state capital. The commitment boosts the chances of resolving a key dispute over the line's route through Springfield. The funds come from Governor Pat Quinn's Illinois Jobs Now program.
