Lake Decatur May Soon Feel Drought Effect

The drought in central Illinois will soon be affecting more than just farmers’ crops and your flower beds.  State climatologist Jim Angel says towns like Decatur, which gets their main water supply from lakes will be feeling the effects sooner than those who rely on an aquifer…

Angel also says that water travel on large bodies of water such as the Ohio, Illinois, and Mississippi rivers could be impacted as well, but it will take an extended drought period.
