IDNR is Looking to Feed the Hungry While also Saving the Great Lakes
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has come up with a unique way to control the state’s rising Asian Carp population. As part of their Target Hunger Now campaign, the department has recently introduced the fish as a food option for soup kitchens across the state. Tim Schweizer, with the IDNR says it’s a great way to stop the fish from migrating while also feeding people in need, and the fish isn’t bad either…
Schweizer also says to showcase their new meal option statewide they will be holding taste testing booths at various events, even some as high profile as the Taste of Chicago.
