The turmoil and uneasiness over the potential split in the Okaw Valley Conference for local high schools is leaving the Little Okaw Valley looking stronger than ever.
Last week, the LOVC added Decatur LSA, Sangamon Valley, and Oblong to its ranks, solidifying the football schedule with 10 teams and allowing for multiple divisions in other sports. Meanwhile, the five remaining Okaw schools – Clinton, Maroa-Forsyth, Monticello, St. Teresa, and Tolono Unity – met earlier this week to discuss options should the other seven members bolt, but they are waiting and watching…hoping that doesn’t happen.
