The Governor of Illinois and the Illinois General Assembly have terminated the Illinois Cares Rx prescription drug program ending June 30th. This means that starting July 1, the State of Illinois will no longer help those individuals on the program pay for their prescription drugs and Medicare Part D plan premiums. For programs available through the Macon County Health Dept. visit their website at maconcountyhealth.org or you can find assistants by contacting The Decatur-Macon County Senior Center at 429-1239, CHELP at 422-9888 and the Starting Point Senior Services at the Macon County Health Department at 423-6550.
