The Illinois State Board of Education is preparing to do something it’s never done before… twice.  They have voted to oust two public school boards, one in North Chicago and the other in East St. Louis for overall poor performance.  Illinois State Board of Education chairman Gery Chico said the problems in both districts, particularly East St. Louis, go back years…



Chico says the state has been working directly with these two districts for more than a year.  The decision was made after a two day meeting in which only one board member from North Chicago appeared.
