A man killed in a Wednesday head-on car collision near Assumption has been identified.  46-year old James Kindermann of Decatur was declared dead at the scene on US-51 around 12:50pm. 

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office believes Kindermann’s vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons and struck 80-year old Janet Tankersley head on.  Tankersley was taken to Memorial Hospital in Springfield with non life-threatening injuries.
